Apostle Marquis L. Yearwood currently lives in East Elmhurst, New York. He is the father of two sons biologically and a spiritual father to many sons and daughters.
Apostle Yearwood was called to preach at the age of 14, ordained as a minister at 17 and then consecrated to be an Elder in the Lord's Church at the age of 25. Shortly thereafter, Apostle was consecrated to the office of Pastor over The Rehoboth Church in Brooklyn, New York. While ministering at the Rehoboth Church, he was elevated to the office of Overseer. With a vision for sowing into others, Apostle seeded The Rehoboth Church into the life of a Pastor who was discouraged in his Vision and Ministry.
With the Lord’s direction, Apostle launched out and started The House Of Obed-Edom Family Worship Center. He then transitioned The House of Obed-Edom Family Worship Center into an outreach ministry. This ministry brings revivals to weary churches and crusade meetings to troubled and spiritually undeveloped areas across this nation. From this outreach ministry, The Ecclesiastical Fellowship of Churches was birthed. As The Establishmentarian of The Ecclesiastical Fellowship of Churches, Apostle leads a group of churches that have rallied together for the sole purpose of ministry development and Kingdom Building.
At the age of 29, the Lord sent him to be the Pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church in South Ozone Park, New York, where he is implementing a Kingdom Plan into a tradition setting for Apostolic Advancement.
On Saturday, March 29, 2011, he was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop and affirmed as an Apostle in The Lord’s Church during the general assembly of The Perfecting Saints International Fellowship Inc.’s National Convocation in Columbia, South Carolina.
Apostle Yearwood is known amongst other pastors and preachers of the Gospel to be a “Prepared Preacher,” always ready and capable of standing before God’s people with a rhema and prophetic word for that time and hour. Preaching and teaching God’s word is paramount, yet Apostle has other goals concerning ministry and kingdom building. Birthing pastors and preachers, building up God’s people, and more importantly - leading the multitudes into the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the driving force behind his God-given vision.

Would it be possible to give me a very quick explanation as to what the term/title Apostle means? Does it also mean that this person is able to perform all the works of the Apostles according to the bible?

In Chapter 4 of Ephesians, Paul lists what have been called the five “ascension” or “gift” ministries (we feel “equipping ministries” is more accurate). The first ministry listed is that of an apostle, followed by the other ministries of prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers.
