The term “Brush with Greatness” is an expression meaning when a person has a once in a life time encounter with a celebrity or sports personality. I have had a few brushes with greatness in my day. One of the most memorable encounters was the stare down with former Heavyweight Champ Mike Tyson. He didn’t stand a chance, LOL.
My personal brushes with greatness were all memorable, but not life changing except for one. I was a new Christian then desiring to grow and learn more from the Father, seeking for a more personal experience. I prayed, read my Bible and listened to worship CD’s in the car and even in my sleep, all seeking after the Holy Spirit. Weeks past, but my faith in God was consistent. On my way to work is where I experienced the ultimate “Bush of Greatness”.
My personal testimony became a life lesson in faith and seeking after the things of the Kingdom. It is said that we should, set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. - Colossians 3:2. Doing this along with prayer and faith, anything is possible. Faith is described as Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. - Hebrews 11:1
I would like to share another story about a woman who had an unforgettable brush with greatness:
She was a woman who was sick, with a blood disease, but because of her faith she was healed. In Mathew 9:20 the verse speaks of a woman who just believed that if she should just touch the garment of Christ it would heal her. This “Brush with Greatness” was a supernatural experience that transformed the life of a believer. For she said within herself, if I may but touch his garment, I shall be made whole. -Matthew 9:21

If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior please pray this prayer with me. God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for you up until now. I have been living for myself and this is wrong. I need you Lord in my life. I acknowledge the complete work of your Son Jesus Christ in giving his life for me on the cross at Calvary. Come into my life Jesus and reside in my heart! I claim you as my Lord, and Savior from this day forward. I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow you, forever! This I ask in your precious name Jesus. Amen.
