San Joe is Directing Gangsters to Grace!

Judas Kiss is in release mode as the new single “Hold On” can serve as a testament to stand fast and wait on the Lord. (Read Corinthians 16:13) This is a video that will encourage anyone who is losing sight in the struggle that everyday life possesses. This opportunity to share the ministry and music of Christian Rap artist San Joe will be a message of encouragement to all of us.

San Joe, I felt an urgency to speak with you and share your music with our readers. Once I read your testimony, I now understand why I moved to reach out to you. Brother you are real and I can hear it in your music!

DJ Worship More:

Please share with us, “Who is San Joe?”

Answer San Joe:

My mother was raped and conceived me, a heroin addict for over a decade before switching to the crack. My mama told me to do right but the behavior she and here peers modeled was contrary to what she asked of my brother and I. I hated the people gangsters and people that brought drugs to the house for my mom to use, but because it was all I knew I became desensitized to the poison and eventually became what I hated. By the age of 17 I was an escape felon running from state to state acting a fool. I care not to give glory to my past, so after years of doing wrong, the Lord of heaven and earth saw fit to open my eyes. I was in the back of the church, I don’t even remember what the pastor preached I just remember seeing a vision of a crucified Christ taking His last breath and at that point it all just became crystal clear. I understood what Jesus had done for me. San Joe is a sinner that the Lord saw fit to save.

Question DJ Worship More:

God has blessed you with the ability to minister to the street and provide an outreach on such a personal level. When you first started your ministry, did you feel that using rap to deliver the Gospel would be as fruitful as it is in winning young souls?

Answer San Joe:

Well I always say that the best ministry happens when I come off the stage, in the time I invest ministering to people one on one and the lifestyle that I lead, that far outweighs any music I have ever sang. But the music does give me a platform in which I can be in so many different places at the same time, this is why it is so important that the lyrics be real and Christocentric. The stage also many times gives me a opportunity to speak into the lives of those in which I would not be able to outside of the music. I also have noticed that the stage in itself is very dangerous. I have seen countless men whether music ministry or even preaching ministry allow their head to grow beyond measure because of the spotlight and acclaim that comes with the stage. So I say that the stage is dangerous.

Question DJ Worship More:

Judas Kiss is the name of the new album. San Joe, why did you name the album this?

Answer San Joe:

Judas Kiss is my upcoming album I have worked hard on it. I really am trying to get people to examine themselves with this project. I use Judas as a point in which to measure ourselves to see how we even measure up. Examining how Judas responded to betraying Jesus with a kiss and ask do we do the same. I even go as far to ask if Judas showed more remorse for his sins, then we do in our sins.

Question DJ Worship More:

Let’s discuss your music video entitled “Hold On”. I am feeling the concept it is ministry first and is relevant for today’s economic environment. Can you please share with us your message behind the song “Hold On”.

Answer San Joe:

I wrote the song with my mother and others fighting through hard times in mind. I figure it is in season and the Lord gave it to me for a reason. I have been through hard times both as a child and an adult, so I understand the plight of those fighting through the storm. The Lord led me to write this song to offer the solution of leaning on Him.

Question DJ Worship More:

When will your new CD be available and how can we purchase it?

Answer San Joe:

It should be available by March I am remixing 1 song and have 2 more to mix, so I hope I will be mastering in a week or two, and have it pressed the following week. So March Lord Willing.

Brother, I want to thank you for your time and sharing your ministry with us. There are many roads that we take, and even though our paths may be different when the roads cross all of us will see Jesus.
