There is More to it Than Skittles!

I have a confession to make, “Yes I am a Skittles, Junkie!” So much so that if Marshawn Lynch and I both eyed the last bag of Skittles in a vending machine forty yards away… Need I say anymore? All jokes aside for those who are not NFL fans let me explain. In short Marshawn Lynch is running back for the Seattle Seahawks who enjoys eating Skittles candy. He said that his mother would give him the candy when he would score touchdowns in high school. After scoring a touchdown during a game this year against the St. Louis Rams, fans began to shower the end zone with Skittles candy. Sweet! As the multi colored candy laid on the field, “I thought what if those were seeds?”

My eyes were opened amazingly to the parable of the sower and how valuable it is to read the Word and gain understanding of it as well. The Word of God is alive, as we breathe the Word into our spirit by reading and mediating. With each breath we take, we must exhale by allowing the Word in our speech, daily living and praise.

Mathew Chapter 13 versus 18 - 23

18Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

20
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

22
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

23But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
