Looking for Some New Lewi for the New Year, I say "Yes"!

The creative musical sound of New Lewi is like a boiling pot of pepper pot soup. Instead of the onions and bell peppers, he is adding a taste of hip hop, a dash of reggae, and a pinch of rock. The results of mixing hip hop and rock is creating a new sub genre called “hip-rock”, a sound that is distinctively New Lewi’s as he infuses a bit of reggae into this hot dish. I must say that this new bowl of soup is being served by "The Master" as New Lewi and his sound is boiling hot!

DJ Worship More had the opportunity to ask New Lewi a few questions about his music, his pursuits towards establishing a new genre called “hip-rock” and his current project entitled "Hip Rock".

DJ Worship More Question:

You have a very positive vibe in your music, providing words of encouragement and triumph to your audience.
How important is it to you that you not only provide quality music, but music that can impact the life of the listener?

New Lewi Answer:

It's very important to me because I believe music can influence someone to make right or wrong decisions. For example, we cannot deny the fact that the hip hop culture has influenced a vast amount of our youths, as well as adults, worldwide.

I need to make sure that the production of my music is good, because if the production of the music is less than what people hear in mainstream media, they're not going to be interested in what I have to say. I need to capture my audience with a good sound, and once I have them hooked, I can then deliver the message that will influence them in making the right decision, which is simply to choose Love.

DJ Worship More Question:

You are leaving your own personal stamp in the music world and working diligently towards creating a new sub-culture called “hip-rock”. Where do you stand in the process of accomplishing your goal of legitimizing “hip-rock” as a new genre?

New Lewi Answer:

I have a long way to go. I have my local fans, but in order for me to fulfill my goal, I need to tap into the mainstream media, and that's not going to be easy. In this World, money talks, so I'm currently speaking with a few investors, as well as finding ways to create enough capital to promote and market my music exactly where its needed.
I've also been doing some training in acting, modeling and stage performance with a company called AMTC (Actors, Models, and Talents for Christ...
http://www.amtcworld.com/ )... So New Lewi got an upgrade :-)
In this business it's very important to invest in what you feel you're called to do. I know I'm called to the arts and entertainment world, so I decided to invest my money in AMTC's training program. I finished the training and I'm now heading down to Orlando FL to perform at the Gaylord Palms Resort (hosted by AMTC). I have to do a few monologues, scene reads, cold reads, modeling and also performing one of my songs in front of a few VIP's. I believe that this will help me towards my goal... A dancer who calls himself, "Twitch", was on the show "So You Think You Can Dance..." And he came through AMTC. Tim Urban, who was one of the top 12 in American Idol, also came through AMTC as well. They (AMTC) have quite a few other successes, so I'm hoping that I'll be someone they can add to their success story as well.

DJ Worship More Question:

Your musical accomplishments are stunning and you have received many accolades in such a short period of time. Are you surprised that by combining three musical genres (Hip Hop, Rock, Reggae) into one truly unique sound could have been so successful?

New Lewi Answer:

I always had a love for all kinds of music, but never thought of combining genres. Back in, I believe it was 2009, I had to work on a song for a, Welter Weight boxer by the name of Martin "Mardi Gras" Wright, and I decided to compose the song with a friend of mine, who's only produced rock music throughout his career. I wrote and produced the song together, and that was the beginning of what we called, "Hip Rock..." And since I'm originally from Jamaica, it's only right that I add some of my roots in the music.

I felt that it would be a success because no matter how "futuristic" music gets, people will always love a live band. This is why 90% of my music is done with a live band. There are people who completely hate rap music, but because of the sound and quality of what I do, they easily find themselves falling in love with it.

DJ Worship More Question:

In brief what can we expect from your latest digital album?

New Lewi Answer:

I'm happy with my accomplishments but certainly not satisfied. This is just the beginning, so expect to hear a lot more from New Lewi.

DJ Worship More:

Now, I would like to thank you for your time. Everyone please visit New Lewi's website http://www.newlewi.com/. We encourage you to buy his albums that are now available on itunes entitled, "Hip-Rock" and "Devil Is A Liar". New Lewi is an artist who will be making a splash for Christ, so large that you will not escape HIS love.

So ask yourself what gift can we give this Christmas to Jesus?

As we celebrate Christmas, let us not forget the greatest gift that was given to the world and continue to share this gift with those who are ready to receive. Also, let us not forget to give Jesus his well deserving gift on that day.

I find the story of the wise men interesting for it carries a message of faith, destiny and prophesy to be fulfilled. The wise men from the east also known as the Magi began a journey that may have taken over a year and a half or as many as two years to present Jesus with three types of gifts. Now, a three to four hour car ride down to Washington, D.C. makes me a little antsy, but when you are called by God your final destination may be several years away, but well worth the journey. The long journey of the wise men following a star to the city Bethlehem in search of the Messiah, alone can be a lesson in faith. So, I asked myself, “What was the reason for this journey?” Jesus was born and living in the world for over a year, but when you read the text in Mathew Chapter 2 verse 2, they came to first worship! So ask yourself what gift can we give this Christmas to Jesus?

Mathew Chapter 2 verses 1-2
1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem

2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

Worship that is in truth and Spirit is a gift we all we can give. This year let us continue to love one another, and worship our Lord and Savior in truth and Spirit for He is worthy to be praised.

Have a Merry Christmas from PreachPastor.com!

DJ Worship More One on One with Fondrea Lewis

Fondrea Lewis: I Believe God

DJ Worship More:

I am delighted to speak to the highly respected Fondrea Lewis on the “Your’ll Soul Music Hour”. I’m sure you have heard the music and have seen one of the coolest videos of 2011 sung by this woman of God. Fondrea Lewis just released her new album entitled, I Believe Godalong with a hit single and music video entitled “Sweeter”. Fondrea, welcome to the “Your’ll Soul Music Hour” on PreachPastor.com.

Question DJ Worship More:

Fondrea before we discuss your music, you are a minister of the Gospel first. Please share with our listeners, when did you decide to preach the Gospel?

Answer Fondrea Lewis:

I knew that I was called to preach at 17, but I didn’t actually submit to that idea until I was about 23 years old.

DJ Worship More:

My sister, you are exciting, powerful and full of life. I have seen some of your live performances on YouTube, and they are just beautiful. You’re not only an excellent vocalist, but you have also directed award-winning choirs as well.

Question DJ Worship More:

What are some of the challenges being a solo artist present? Which do you find more challenging, being a choir director or a solo artist?

Answer Fondrea Lewis:

Well I am actually a new solo “artist” per say, so I am not sure what kinds of challenges I will be up against. I just listen to the experiences of my friends who are solo artists and try to get an idea. I can imagine that one major difference is that you have to deal with less attitudes and agendas as a solo artist and with a choir directress you have to try to make voices blend, attitudes mesh, schedules match, outfits come together and the list goes on and on! With one person those kinds of decisions are much easier to make, but I love both of those areas of ministry I was just ready to experience another avenue. I have 18 years of experience being a choir directress. I was just ready for something new! Maybe I will be able to answer that question differently after a few years of being a solo artist. We’ll see how long I last……LOL

Question DJ Worship More:

The music video for “Sweeter” from the “I believe God” album is one of the coolest and just relaxing music videos I’ve seen in awhile. When I say cool, to me the feeling I get is just that everyday vibe. You know, I can truly relate with the environment and peace in the video.

Question DJ Worship More:

What was your inspiration behind the song “Sweeter?”

Answer Fondrea Lewis:

Thank you so much, I love the video as well, And that was the idea behind the video which was directed by George Searight Jr.

That song was actually written by my 19-year-old daughter Kayla who you see there in the video with me. (Smile) She is an amazing songwriter, musician and singer who happen to have her own relationship with God. She came in my room one morning at about 2a.m. and said “Mom tell me what you think” and immediately I fell in love with the song and I asked her if I ever recorded could I put that song on my album? She said really? I don’t think it’s good enough and said let me worry about that because I LOVE IT!!!! So there you have it! Maybe soon you will be interviewing her alone. This Girl has a bright future!!!!

Question DJ Worship More:

Fondrea, I don’t want to be a spoiler, but your album has a lot to offer the listener. What is your favorite song on the CD and why?

Answer Fondrea Lewis:

I do happen to love all of the songs but my actual favorite song is “I cried to the Lord” because it is the song that the Lord gave to me. I appreciate all of the other writers but that song was birthed from my personal experience with God.

DJ Worship More:

Fondrea where can we purchase your CD?

Answer Fondrea Lewis:

The CD is now available on I-Tunes, Twitter, CD-Baby, Rhapsody, V-Cast and Napster.

DJ Worship More:

What websites can we read more about you and how can fans follow up on your latest achievements?

Answer Fondrea Lewis:

You can find out more about me and where I we will be on my website, Fondrealewis.org and I am also on FaceBook.com and Twitter.com as well.

DJ Worship More:

Fondrea, thank you for taking this time to speak with PreachPastor.com. Your presence alone will light up any room that God has sent you to walk into its doors.

Thank you and God Bless.

Answer Fondrea Lewis:

Thank you so much for having me, it was a pleasure to share with you!

There is More to it Than Skittles!

I have a confession to make, “Yes I am a Skittles, Junkie!” So much so that if Marshawn Lynch and I both eyed the last bag of Skittles in a vending machine forty yards away… Need I say anymore? All jokes aside for those who are not NFL fans let me explain. In short Marshawn Lynch is running back for the Seattle Seahawks who enjoys eating Skittles candy. He said that his mother would give him the candy when he would score touchdowns in high school. After scoring a touchdown during a game this year against the St. Louis Rams, fans began to shower the end zone with Skittles candy. Sweet! As the multi colored candy laid on the field, “I thought what if those were seeds?”

My eyes were opened amazingly to the parable of the sower and how valuable it is to read the Word and gain understanding of it as well. The Word of God is alive, as we breathe the Word into our spirit by reading and mediating. With each breath we take, we must exhale by allowing the Word in our speech, daily living and praise.

Mathew Chapter 13 versus 18 - 23

18Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

20
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

22
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

23But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Jessica Rogers One on One with DJ Worship More

DJ Worship More:

WOW! Simply describes our next guest Jessica Rogers. Jessica is an artist who will sing the love of Jesus into the heart and soul of all who are willing to listen. It is an honor to have the opportunity to listen to the new single from Jessica’s debut CD entitled “What a friend” and I encourage you all download this new single if you hadn’t already!

Question DJ Worship More:

Jessica, listening to the snippets from you upcoming CD, I was blown away by your vocals! When did you know it was time to share your voice with the world?

Answer Jessica Rogers:

I’ve always loved music and enjoyed listening and singing to it, but it wasn’t until a few years back that I realized that it was my passion. And whatever your passion is, it brings you great joy. I enjoy watching others get healed or set free through the ministry God has given me. I realize it’s not me, but it’s the God who lives in me. And God has given me a gift that must be shared with the world.

DJ Worship More:

The new single is called “What A Friend”. The song is vibrant full of life and showers me with the feeling of rejuvenation. The title alone is self-explanatory and leaves a personal impression with believers.

Question DJ Worship More:

Why did you choose “What A Friend” to be released as the first track from your CD?

Answer Jessica Rogers:

It’s catchy, and it draws you as soon as it starts. I wanted it to be a song you surely won’t forget because of the message. But not only that, it’s making a statement letting you know about the greatest man that walked this earth a man that sticks closer than any brother. This song declares that Jesus is my best friend.

Question DJ Worship More:

Jessica, can you please share with us why Jesus isn’t just a God. He can also be a friend and what is the importance of having a personal relationship with Him?

Answer Jessica Rogers:

When God becomes your total source, --the only one you depend, your number one, you then realize He’s so much more. When you need a counselor, He can be just that. Whatever advice you may be looking for to any question, circumstance or situation, He has all the answers. When family turns their backs on you, He steps right in to be a father, mother, sister and a brother. Like friends may do, He will never tell your business. That’s the greatest thing. Whatever you tell God, it’s always between you and Him. He’s the number one Healer, deliverer and peacemaker. That’s why it’s so important to have that personal relationship with Him and to know the Word. The Word says in John 15:7, If you abide in Me and My word abides in you, you can ask for whatever you will. That’s the kind of friend I’m talking about.

DJ Worship More:

Jessica, where can we purchase your CD?

Answer Jessica Rogers:

My full length CD is scheduled to drop December 13th. You can visit my website to get more information on how you can pre-order the CD. Also, the single is available for download on CD Baby, ITunes, as well as Amazon.com. Once you type in my name, Jessica Rogers, the song should come up.

Jessica Rogers on the Your'll Soul Music Hour!

This week on the "Your'll Soul Music Hour" our spotlight artist is the one and only Jessica Rogers we invite you tune listen to the interview with DJ Worship More, December 7, 2011 at 8:00 PM. Jessica will be discussing what it is to have Jesus as a friend, her new single entitled, "What a Friend" and more......

More about Jessica Rogers:

Bio:

Endowed with a singing ability that glorifies God in the highest, “Jessica” is about to take the gospel world by storm!
In 2008, God released Jessica to give rise to her very first concert “Introducing Jessica” where she debuted her hit single, “Send Me”, written and produced by her husband Larry E. Rogers, Jr., of No Slippin’ Productions (N.S.P.). This dynamic duo has been dedicated to completing the entire CD, scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2011.

A native of Brunswick GA, Jessica grew up with a passion for music and an immense love for God burning in her heart; both of which are displayed with every note she sings. From her start in a church choir until now, Jessica’s gift of song has not gone unnoticed. During her youth, Jessica sang with the high school choir and participated in musical theater. She won the All State Choral Competition for three consecutive years. Her talents have been honed and perfected under the watchful eye of several directors, which include but are not limited to, Dr. Samuel Shingles, director of the renowned Edward Waters College Choir of Jacksonville FL where Jessica received her post-secondary education.

Jessica was the winner of the Outstanding Soloist Choral Award at the All American Music Festival (Orlando FL) and the winner of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Lambda Chapter Talent Hunt (Brunswick GA). She has had the unique honor and pleasure of singing with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and performing backup vocals for some of the most notable and distinguished voices in music: Ray Charles, Stephanie Mills, Isaac Hayes, Dionne Warwick, and gospel artist Douglas Miller.

Jessica credits her success to God, the unconditional love and support of her family and friends, and the prolific teachings of Pastor Mark Baker, founder of Greater Works Than These Ministries (Brunswick GA) where her scriptural knowledge and faith are continually increased as she strives toward the next level in her ministry gift.

“My prayer and desire is that my music will touch everyone that God allows to hear it. The music is not just for one race, age, gender, denomination, or culture, but for all backgrounds.” - Jessica

Jessica’s core focus for life is God and the gift of ministry through song that He has entrusted to her. Her aim is to uplift, encourage, and strengthen through the word of God. She stands on and exemplifies the scripture, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

And mount up, she shall! With her faith and her family and peers backing her, Jessica is fully convinced that in due season the will of God for her life will catapult her into her destiny and that she will reap if she faints not!

Steps of Divine Destiny!

I would like to offer this scripture as a Word of encouragement:

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ~Ecclesiastes 3:1

In this day and time the Comforter is needed more than ever. Many people are feeling discouraged these days trying to make ends meet when looking for employment or whatever their personal day to day struggle maybe. In speaking to someone who may feel lost, looking for “their spiritual purpose”, I share this message of encouragement. We as the body need to pull each other up in this day to help each other in our spiritual walk.

We alone will never understand the divine plan in our life, or what a simple encounter will bring. Be assured that when you walk with Christ you are taking steps of divine destiny. We as saints should always walk with scripture in our hearts knowing that God is in control and remembering that it is not, “your purpose” but the will of God and His purpose for our spiritual life.

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. ~Ecclesiastes 3:11

********************************Alter Call**************************

Romans: 10:9-10 Who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

If you do not know Jesus as your personal savior please pray this prayer with me. God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for you up until now. I have been living for myself and this is wrong. I need you Lord in my life. I acknowledge the complete work of your Son Jesus Christ in giving his life for me on the cross at Calvary. Come into my life Jesus and reside in my heart! I claim you as my Lord, and Savior from this day forward I will long longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow you, forever! This I ask in you precious name Jesus.

Amen.

More about Aaron Rodgers:

Born June 20th 1988 in Providence, Rhode Island, Aaron Rodgers was raised by his single mother in Seminole, FL. Aaron became saved at the age of 17 through fear of going to hell. Six months after he began pursuing a relationship with Jesus, he realized he was called to preach and began doing so by means of outreach. When Aaron was 18 he started rapping as a joke with another Christian Rap Artist. Aaron soon began experiencing divine revelation through his songwriting and God used this as another way to communicate to and through him. The more Aaron wrote, the more intimacy grew in his relationship with Christ. This became an outlet by expressing his walk with Christ so others could relate.

In 2008, Jesus blessed Aaron by winning the 2008 USA National Songwriting Competition for the Hip Hop Category with the hit song Kingdom’s Takin Over. He also began seeing radio time on Alaska’s KFAT 92.9 with the song When Reality Hits. Aaron soon started opening at different venues for artists such as Canton Jones, Earnest Pugh, and Brent Jones. In 2009 he became a finalist in the USA National Songwriting Competition with the song Who I Am. He has also been seen on the AK32 Podcast with DJ TWalk.

Although unsigned, a vision was planted in his heart for his first cd called Ground Zero. God showed him how everything in the past was gone and that now is the time to build a solid foundation on Him that will propel and sustain a future in ministry. In July 2011 Aaron and his wife Denise were recognized for their calling as ministers and were ordained as such. He now resides in San Antonio, TX with his wife and three children. Ground Zero was released November 11, 2011.
